Priyanka Chopra was born in Jamshedpur in Jharkhand state of India. Her father Dr. Ashok Chopra was a surgeon in the army. Priyanka Chopra was in Jai Hind College in Mumbai when she won the Femina Miss India contest in 2000. She was crowned Miss World in 2000 in London. Priyanka Chopra is the fifth Indian to be crowned Miss World. She left her studies midway after winning the beauty contest and entered film industry.
Priyanka Chopra the first steps in Tamil film “Thamizhan. Her debut Hindi film was “The Hero opposite Sunny Deol. Although the movie was rated average, it was one of the highest grossing films of the year again. Priyanka Chopra next film was “Andaaj” opposite Akshay Kumar. “Andaaj” was a successful film in box office and Priyanka was nominated for Best Actress Filmfare Award. Her next release was “Aitraaz”, which is a Hindi remake of the Demi Moore-Starker “Disclosure”. Prianka won the Filmfare Best Villain Award for her performance in “Aitraaz”. Since then, she has many hit films like “Bluffmaster” opposite Abhishek Bachchan, “Mujhe Shadi Karogi” opposite Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan and “Krissh” opposite Hrithik Roshan. Priyanka Chopra was voted Sexiest Asian Woman of 2006 in Eastern Eye, an Asian newspaper in Britain.
